II Casello Country House
Via Montagliari, 26
Overall Rating 5/5
This cute little B&B is located in the heart of Chiantis’ countryside, offering spectacular views of the Vignamaggio valley and vineyards. The short distance to Panzano and Greve, personalized and friendly hospitality by the owners and luxurious accommodation and facilities, make this country house is a perfect location to just relax or base for exploring the area.
The 16th century historic farm house is located in the Chianti countryside, just between Panzano and Greve. Panzano can be reached within 15 minutes walking distance or 5 minutes by car. Greve is a few minutes drive away.
Both idyllic towns offer many nice traditional trattorrias and cafe’s with food and wine from the area.
The bus connecting to Florence (365 A) is about 80 meters away from the property. If not arriving by bus, a car is essential to reach the country house as well as for exploring the area.
Plenty of Chianti wineries are within short driving distance, two of them can be reached by foot.
Style & Character 5/5
The house has been carefully restored, maintaining traditional architectural Tuscan features such as the terracotta floors, the brick vaults and the chestnut roof beams. The owners paid a lot of attention to details when decorating not only the guestrooms, but the entire property.
The B&B simply merges with the gorgeous landscape of Tuscany. The surrounding greenery, colors and smell of nature provides a unique experience to all travelers who want to enjoy peace and comfort in a beautiful and charming property. It is beautiful inside and out.
Service & Facilities 5/5
All facilities you are looking for are available at this country house. A salt water outdoor pool within beautiful settings, hammock, panoramic terrace, BBQ facilities, darts, table tennis, pool table and a common living room with library and romantic fireplace.
Free parking and fast, reliable WiFi are available.
The big outdoor area with its gardens, patios and terrace is perfect for relaxing, reading a book or sipping some wine. If the weather is nice, you can even enjoy your breakfast on the terrace (or alternatively, in the pretty dining room).
The sweet and savory breakfast buffet (complimentary) is simple, but fresh and of great quality. They also offer a la carte menu for dinner that specializes in local cuisine.
Outstanding is the personalized service by the owners Paolo and Angelica. They are very welcoming, friendly and happy to assist with recommendations and questions about the area. Both really take hospitality to the next level and you can feel that they truly care about their guests and add a personal touch.
Room category booked: Double Room (Standard category)
All 15 rooms are built in charming Tuscan style with antique wooden furniture. Each room is designed in different colors.
The rooms are spacious and come with amenities such as flat screen TV, coffee & tea facilities, fully stocked minibar (with decent prices) and even air conditioning. The cute bathrooms are equipped with shower, toilets, hairdryer and soap.
Every corner of the room is perfectly clean, well maintained and thanks to the soundproof walls – very quiet.
In addition to the rooms, the property has 4 apartments which can only be booked with the B&B directly (not via third party websites). The units have a private terrace and Jacuzzi.
Value for money 4/5
Rates from USD 80 (single) and USD 94 (double) can be found throughout the season. Rates do not fluctuate much. Be aware that the farm house is closed over the winter months.
Even though you can find lower rates at other, comparable B&B’s in the region, the service, facilities and experience justify the price.
